The British Tycoon Sir Richard Branson, alongside Al Gore, announced on Friday the 9th of February the ‘Virgin Earth Challenge.’ A $25 million prize for anyone that can develop a way of extracting a billion tons of CO2 or more out of the atmosphere each year for ten years. This is not Sir Richard’s first venture into putting money behind green innovations, last year he pledged $3 billion into the R & D of bio fuels via one of the off shoots of the Virgin brand; Virgin Fuels.
