
The Belgian branch of the WWF, was founded in 1966 and has 81,000 supporters .The WWF provides financial support for the international work of WWF and conducts its own activities and field projects.
The WWF is conducting a significant part of its conservation projects in the Congo Basin . By ambitious reforestation projects, we protect the nature reserves of the Republic of Congo, while contributing to the improvement of living standards of local communities . We also support the villagers in the more sustainable management of natural resources .
Both East and West, these projects are the preservation of wildlife , including great apes such as the mountain gorilla and the bonobo .
In Belgium, WWF conducts awareness campaigns among the general public, schools, businesses, municipalities or policy makers.
Since 1/1/2006, the WWF is recognized by the French Community as an association of adult continuing education.
