Today there are 47 individual Wildlife Trusts covering the whole of the UK and the Isle of Man and Alderney and together The Wildlife Trusts are the largest UK voluntary organisation dedicated to protecting wildlife and wild places everywhere – at land and sea. We are supported by more than 800,000 members, 150,000 of which belong to our junior branch - Wildlife Watch. Every year The Wildlife Trusts work with thousands of schools and welcome millions of visitors to our nature reserves and visitor centres.
The VISION of The Wildlife Trusts is “an environment rich in wildlife for everyone”
Our OBJECTIVES are:
- To create A Living Landscape
- To secure Living Seas
- To inspire people about the natural world
- To encourage individual action for wildlife and the environment
The Wildlife Trusts are an influential voice in public debate. Representing the views of our membership, we seek to influence national and local decision-makers about the value of nature.
In particular, we have a focus on promoting:
• A Living Landscape and Living Seas and the benefits to people and wildlife;
• Support and funding needs to allow us to achieve our Vision;
• Policy changes needed to support nature’s recovery.
