Forests of the World is an environmental organisation working to promote sustainable use of the world's forests, particularly in­ Denmark and in the rainforests of the tropics.  For over 25 years, we have been working to preserve forests resources for the benefit of local communities and the environment and climate.

This is accomplished through innovative projects with local communities in forest areas in Latin America promoting sustainable forestry and sustainable tourism.  

In Denmark and internationally we work through advocacy and campaigning. Much of our work in Denmark is carried out on a voluntary basis by our network of volunteers and supporters. 

What is our objective?

Forests of the World aims to create better conditions for nature and people alike, and therefore our projects are run in close cooperation with indigenous peoples and local communities and in coalitions with other environmental organisations. 

Alongside the projects a great deal of our efforts are dedicated to influencing the debate on environmental policy in Denmark. We strive to improve Danish environmental legislation through professional knowledge and the strength of well-founded argumentation.
