Multi-Community Based Development Initiative (MUCOBADI)

We are an independent, non-political, non-religious and non-governmental organisation registered with the Uganda National NGO Board as an NGO (Reg No: S.5914/7569). MUCOBADI is also registered as a company limited by Guarantee (Reg No 105716). The founder members of MUCOBADI are represented in a nine member Executive Board which is the supreme organ.The Executive Board formulates the strategy and policies of the organisation, guides the staff in its work.

MUCOBADI has an annual budget of approximately over US$ 300,000, a rolling staff of 20 people and over 330 regular Community Based Volunteers. MUCOBADI supports community-based approaches that are turning the tide of HIV/AIDS in Uganda. They provide care to vulnerable men and women who are ill and struggling to survive; assist orphans and other children affected by HIV and other vulnerabilities; reach heroic caregivers who single-handedly care for people living with HIV/AIDS and their orphans and supports, sustains and builds the capacity of people living with HIV and AIDS, people with disabilities to advocate for their rights. Since 1997, MUCOBADI has implemented community-level initiatives/projects in many districts of Uganda.

Our Mission: Working with and through the community to improve the social economic well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, Widows, PWDs, Orphans and other vulnerable children through empowering them so as they become capable of responding to their challenges
