LEAD Southern & Eastern Africa

LEAD was conceived as a programme focused on strengthening the capacities of a new cadre of leaders at the workplace empowered with knowledge of sustainable development and leadership skills including vision development.

LEAD has implemented capacity building programmes in the last 15 years, through its 14 offices globally, three of which are in Africa. LEAD Southern and Eastern Africa is one of the three LEAD offices in Africa with activities covering all countries in Southern and Eastern Africa.

LEAD is also thus an environmental and developmental think tank that goes beyond training and research to find practical ways to move human society to live in ways that protect the Earth's environment and its capacity to provide the needs and aspirations of current and future generations.

LEAD provides and helps other institutions provide objective information and practical proposals for policy and institutional change that will foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development.
LEAD SEA was established in 1994.
