Green Anhui Environmental Development Center

Green Anhui is a local organization for environmental protection in Anhui Province, established in September 2003. After seven years ofdevelopment, Green Anhui now has three offices in Hefei, Bengbu and Wuhu, 6 full-time staff as well as nearly one hundred core volunteers. In addition, Green Anhui has set up three local environmental organizations: Green Anhui Students Forum, the Wuhu Ecology Centre and North Anhui Youth Environment Action Network. Green Anhui has been awarded the "Ford Environmental Award" in 2004 and the "SEE Ecological Award" in 2005. Furthermore, it came first in the Anhui section of the Lenovo Youth Venture Competition in November 2009.

• Our mission:Re-establish a harmonious relationship between humans and nature through sustainable development, environmental
  protection and the advocacy of environmental education.
• Our focus:In 2009, Green Anhui established its organizational strategic objectives. Our water protection program is first priority, as well as environmental education and capacity building. We pay close attention to Anhui’s local environmental problems, especially water issues, therefore the second objective is to improve citizens’ environment awareness in Anhui province and choose environmentally friendly lifestyles. The third objective is to enhance our own capacity and ability for cooperation.
