The purpose of APERe is to promote renewable energies and the thoughtful use of energy in the framework of sustainable development.
APERe was created in 1991 as an independant non profit-making organisation by several associations and research centres. Nowadays APERe exists with its own "effective members" and is backed up by individuals as "sympathizers" and firms from the renewable sector as "associated members".
Through its realisations, APERe has acquired a large expertise in the sector of renewable energies. It is now part of a substantial network of Belgian and European governmental agencies and firms.
APERe promotes:
the development of the different technologies of renewable energies in Belgium (solar thermal, photovoltaic, bioclimatic architecture, wind, hydroenergy, biomass, heat pumps,...); especially through its missions of facilitator for windpower (eole@apere.org) and small hydropower (hydro@apere.org) on behalf of the Walloon Region, and for Collective solar thermal on behalf of the Brussels Region.
the improvement of the price paid for the purchase of the electricity produced from a renewable sources and the connecting conditions for the supply of renewable electricity on the grid;
the improvement of the regulations and the administrative framework in order to enable a smooth development of renewable energies (RE);
the progressive integration of RE in every sector of activity.
